
Bangalore is the capital city of the southern Indian state of Karnataka. It is the seventh largest city in India. It is also known as the Garden City because of its many beautiful gardens and parks. Though the origin of Bangalore is ancient, the present-day city was founded in the 16th century and has since continued to be an important administrative center. Because of the high concentration of IT industry, it also called the Silicon Valley of India.
Bangalore city has a number of tourist places. Apart from
the numerous gardens, it also has some historical sites and other places of
interest that are worth visiting and seeing.

The Vidhan Soudha or the State Secretariat, built in 1954, is the main attraction of this city. It is a marvel of modern architecture and is a fine amalgamation of traditional Dravidian and modern styles.
Cubbon Park, the 120-hectare park located near the Vidhan Soudha, has a number of neo-classical styled government buildings.

The
16th-century, Dravidian-styled temple dedicated to Nandi the Bull is an important
place of worship at Nandi Hill.
The Venkataramanaswamy Temple, the Gavi Gangadhareswara cave temple, and the
Someshwara Temple are other important temple of this city.



Ooty - One of the popular hill stations in Tamilnadu located at a height of 2268 meters is famous for its salubrious climate and scenic beauty. Ooty, is the most popular hill station in South India. Udhagamandalam is the headquarters of the Nilgiris district. Apart from coffee and tea plantations, trees like conifers, eucalyptus, pine and wattle dot the hillside in Udhagamandalam and its environs. The temperature varies from 25°c to 10°c during summer and between 21°c and 0°c during winter. The best time to visit is April to June and September to November.

Maysore is famous as a place to buy sandalwood and you can find carvings of all sizes and prices, from small book marks to 3-foot high elephants. A visit to a sandalwood shop is not soon forgotton and you will find yourself thinking of this city every time you smell sandalwood.

Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary (67km from Ooty): The most prominent of the wildlife sanctuaries in the state, as well as one of the most important in the southern region, thickly forested Mudumalai is continuation of the Bandipur National Park in Karnataka and the Wyanad Sanctuary in Kerala. Apart from the wide range of animal and bird life, the rich fauna of this sanctuary has made Mudumalai very popular with wildlife enthusiasts.
Botanical
Gardens: The Government Botanical Gardens, laid out in 1847, is the most beautiful
jewel on the crown of the "Queen of Hill Stations". Well over 650
species of plants are in the garden and the fossil of a tree trunk believed
to be 20 million years old is preserved here. The garden spread over 22 hectares
has lush green lawns, six sections comprising varieties of tree species, variety
of ferns, fashioned beds, an Italian formal garden, flowering plants, house
ferns, orchids and nurseries.
The lake is another attraction and boating is very popular. The artificial lake,
shimmering under the gentle sun is a popular spot for the tourist. Pony rides
are available along the road skirting of the lake.


Mysore is 770 mtr above sea level and 140 km from Bangalore, the city of mysore was once the capital of Wodeyars. Stately Mysore with its free lined boulevards, grand palaces and gardens is one of the India's finest cities. Among the places of interest are the Maharaja's Palace - this palace is an amazing example of the wealth and opulence of the Indian royalty. You can tour this palace and will be amazed by the sheer scale of the place, yet the detail of the decor. It is a masterpiece of stained glass, mirrors, gilt, mahogony ceilings and amazing carved doors.
